Slavery, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. Exploitation today has many faces and names. Though there is no universally agreed upon definition for human trafficking, it is undeniable that slavery does exist. There are still people who are being bought, sold, and treated as the property of others. Human trafficking is a modern term for this type of exploitation. While not all human trafficking can be defined as slavery and not all exploitation can be defined as trafficking, what is certain is that millions of people are being exploited today.
